A verb combined with an adverb or a preposition, or sometimes both, to give a new meaning.
Phrasal Verb:
kick someone or something aside
Meaning / Example:
1. to get someone or something out of the way by kicking.
> The bully kicked Timmy aside and grabbed our cake.
2. to get rid of someone or something.
> He simply kicked aside his wife and took up with some young chick.
