Phrasal Verb


A verb combined with an adverb or a preposition, or sometimes both, to give a new meaning.


Phrasal Verb:
pucker up

Meaning / Example:

1. to tighten one's lips together into a circle as if to kiss.
> He puckered up and kissed her once, and then again.

2. [for something] to shrink up and get wrinkled.
> The top edge of the drapes puckered up and I don't know how to straighten it out.
