An idiom is a group of words, or in other words, a phrase that has a meaning other than its literal meaning of the words in it.
Idiom:
clean out (someone) or clean (someone) out
Meaning:
to rob someone of almost everything, to steal almost everything from someone
Example:
The robber enterd the store at night and cleaned out the owners.
