Idioms


An idiom is a group of words, or in other words, a phrase that has a meaning different from the literal meaning of the words in it.


Idiom:
get back at (someone)

Meaning:
to do something bad to someone who has done something bad to you

Example:
The girl is angry at her boyfriend and she is getting back at him by not answering the telephone.
