An idiom is a group of words, or in other words, a phrase that has a meaning different from the literal meaning of the words in it.
Idiom:
have a frog in one's throat
Meaning:
to have a feeling of a hoarse throat, to be unable to speak
Example:
I had a frog in my throat and could not speak easily in front of the class.
