Idioms
Idioms are phrases which cannot be understood simply by looking at the meaning of the individual words in the phrase.
Idiom:
pull (something) to pieces
Meaning:
to find serious fault with something, to criticize something very severely
Example:
The politician tried hard to pull the proposal to pieces.
