Phrasal Verb


Phrasal verbs, also called two-word verbs, are idiomatic expressions wherein the second element of the verb (the adverb or particle) is not necessarily predictable.


Phrasal Verb:
bat something around

Meaning / Example:

1. to knock something around with a bat or something similar.
> Let's bat around some balls before we go home.

2. to discuss something back and forth.
> Let's bat this around a little bit tomorrow at our meeting.
