Phrasal Verb


A phrase that combines a verb with a preposition or adverb or both and that functions as a verb whose meaning is different from the combined meanings of the individual words

Meaning / Example:

1. to erase something, as on a computer screen.
> Who blanked out the information that was on my screen?

2. to forget something, perhaps on purpose; to blot something out of memory.
> I'm sorry, I just blanked your question out.
