Phrasal Verb
A group of words which have a different meaning when used together from the one they would have if you took the meaning of each word separately.
Phrasal Verb:
bog down
Meaning:
to become encumbered and slow. (As if one were walking through a bog and getting stuck in the mud. Often preceded by a form of get.)
Example:
The process bogged down and almost stopped.
A verb combined with an adverb or a preposition, or sometimes both, to give a new meaning.
