Phrasal Verb


Phrasal verbs are compound verbs that result from combining a verb with an adverb or a preposition. The resulting compound verb is idiomatic.


Phrasal Verb:
carry someone along (with someone) [for someone's enthusiasm or power]

Meaning:
to affect other people and persuade them.

Example:
The excitement of the play carried the audience along with the actors.
