Phrasal Verb


Phrasal verbs, also called two-word verbs, are idiomatic expressions wherein the second element of the verb (the adverb or particle) is not necessarily predictable.


Phrasal Verb:
carry someone along (with something) [for something]

Meaning:
to transport someone as it moves along.

Example:
The flood carried us along with the debris.
