Phrasal Verb


Phrasal verbs consists of a basic verb + another word or words. The two or three words that make up a phrasal verb form a short 'phrase' - which is why we call them 'phrasal verbs'.


Phrasal Verb:
cast someone or something up [for the waves]

Meaning:
to bring up and deposit someone or something on the shore.

Example:
The waves cast the wreckage up, and it was found on the shore.
