Phrasal Verb


Phrasal verbs consists of a basic verb + another word or words. The two or three words that make up a phrasal verb form a short 'phrase' - which is why we call them 'phrasal verbs'.


Phrasal Verb:
chew someone or something up

Meaning:
to damage or ruin someone or something by pinching, grinding, biting, etc.

Example:
Stay away from the mower blade or it will chew you up.
