Phrasal Verb


A phrase that combines a verb with a preposition or adverb or both and that functions as a verb whose meaning is different from the combined meanings of the individual words.


Phrasal Verb:
drive someone or an animal away (from something or some place)

Meaning:
to repel someone or an animal from something or some place.

Example:
We drove the monkeys away from the pineapples.
