Phrasal Verb
Phrasal verbs are two or more words that come together to give us a new verb with a different meaning from the original words.
Phrasal Verb:
lap something up
Meaning / Example:
1. [for an animal] to lick something up.
> The dog lapped the ice cream up off the floor.
2. [for someone] to accept or believe something with enthusiasm.
> Of course, they believed it. They just lapped it up.
A group of words which have a different meaning when used together from the one they would have if you took the meaning of each word separately.
