A phrase that consists of a verb with a preposition or adverb or both, the meaning of which is different from the meaning of its separate parts.


Phrasal Verb:
purse something up

Meaning:
to bunch or pucker something up. (Usually the lips.)

Example:
When he tasted the lemon juice, he pursed his lips up and spat it out.
