Phrasal verbs are compound verbs that result from combining a verb with an adverb or a preposition. The resulting compound verb is idiomatic.

1. to come by for a quick visit.
> Can you run over for a minute after work?
> I will run over for a minute as soon as I can.

2. to overflow.
> The bathtub ran over and there was water all over the floor.
