Phrasal Verb


A phrase that consists of a verb with a preposition or adverb or both, the meaning of which is different from the meaning of its separate parts.


Phrasal Verb:
blow someone over

Meaning / Example:

1. [for the wind or an explosion] to knock someone over.
> The force of the wind nearly blew me over.

2. to surprise or astound someone. (Fixed order.)
> Her announcement just blew me over.
