Phrasal Verb


Phrasal verbs are compound verbs that result from combining a verb with an adverb or a preposition. The resulting compound verb is idiomatic.


Phrasal Verb:
mark something down

Meaning / Example:

1. to write something down on paper.
> She marked the number down on the paper.

2. to reduce the price of something.
> We are going to mark all this merchandise down next Monday.
