Phrasal Verb


Phrasal verbs are two or more words that together act as a completely new verb with a meaning separate from those of the original words.


Phrasal Verb:
rise up

Meaning / Example:

1. to come up; to ascend.
> The water is rising up fast. You had better get to higher ground.

2. to get up from lying down.
> The deer rose up and darted off into the woods.
